The footballing world is still in shock that Wenger will leave his position as Arsenal head coach come May, ending a 22-year reign at the helm of the club.
Speculation has already turned to who will replace the Frenchman, with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers heavily tipped.
However, the aforementioned English newspaper have claimed that it will, in fact, be Luis Enrique, after the former Barcelona boss positively received an approach by Arsenal's new director of football relations, Raul Sanllehi.
The two have reportedly dined together at an exclusive London restaurant after forging a close relationship together in Spain which will no doubt speed along the allegedly-already-"advanced" negotations.
Enrique has been out of work since leaving Barcelona last season.
