Critical voices continue to emerge about Manchester United's situation. The Red Devils have had a disappointing season and the negative comments after finishing the campaign in Europa League places have not been long in coming. John Barnes, former Liverpool player, wanted to talked about the situation and pointed to Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the responisbles.
"He causes disunity and disharmony. When the ball doesn't come to him, he throws his hands in the air... that's a great example, isn't it?" said the former midfielder, who was very unhappy with the Portuguese's attitude.
He pointed out that what United need is "harmony" and that it is Cristiano who breaks it with his gestures towards his team-mates: "He walks around as if it's everyone else's fault, he thinks he's doing his job," he told the 'Mirror'.
He also wanted to make it clear that the striker's attitudes are not typical of someone who has to be the visible head of the dressing room: "That's not what a leader does, that's what someone who thinks only of himself does".
"Ronaldo makes other players worse. Rashford would have had a better season, Fernandes would have had a better season, Sancho would have had a better season. Whoever signed Ronaldo, he's responsible," the former player concluded.
