Cristiano Ronaldo's comeback season at Manchester United has not been a brilliant one and that is no secret. The team, on the whole, has been in a slump that has left them out of the Champions League. In the absence of official word, the Portuguese has asked to leave for another club and former player Jamie O'Hara understands him perfectly.
"Ronaldo was their top scorer last season, he stood up for the club in big moments. He is leaving because he is seeing that the club is a sinking ship. They are in a lot of trouble for letting him go, he is their best player. How many times has he stood up for them? Ronaldo, in those big moments, carries them," he said.
O'Hara may have been referring to moments such as the Champions League match against Atalanta, in which Cristiano saved his side with a crucial brace to keep the Red Devils' hopes alive. In the Premier League, he also put in outstanding performances that were worth points that, in any case, came to nothing because of the group's poor final qualifying result.
"He's carried them for months until the end and he's earned the right to say: 'The future is not bright with Manchester United, I want to win titles," O'Hara told 'TEAMtalk'. His and CR7's point of view is likely to become clearer soon, as his agent is making moves for him in the market... and even Barcelona are talking about him.
