The Chelsea player was extremely critical of Didier Deschamps's men after they beat his side in the semi-finals of the tournament after a cagey game in ehich the only goal came from a set-piece.
After the game, Courtois made strong comments about the opposition's perfromance, saying that they are an 'anti-football side' and that he had never played against a team like it.
Speaking to 'Het Nieuwsblad' in his native Belgium, the player let his thought be known on the manner fo the French victory on Sunday evening.
"I have not yet experienced that a striker plays so far from goal. It's their right to play like that... but it's not nice to see.
"'Not only the French tactics, but the referee. He didn't call well at all." Courtois complained.
In fact, he was so disgusted with the final result that he turned off the television after the final whistle went, as to not see 'les Bleus' lift the trophy in Moscow.
That meant that he did not know that he had been awarded the Golden Glove, the award designating the best goalkeeper at the World Cup, and only found out after friends had contacted him to congragulate him on the achievement.
"It's an incredible honour. I'm happy to have made a lot of saves to help the team, but that's not the most important thing. I wanted to go as far as possible." he revealed.
