Raphaël Varane turned 27 over the weekend and did so as one of the most successful players in the history of Real Madrid.
The French defender, who also has the World Cup with his national team, joined Madrid very young and, therefore, has been able to live several stages of the club's successes in the past few years.
Varane has 17 titles to his name and still has many years of career ahead of him. He is not the only player who could catch Gento, but, in perspective, he is the one who could leave the number higher.
The defender has won two Leagues, one Cup, and three Super Cups and it is in the continental section that he really shines, with his four Champions League, four World Club Championships and three European Super Cups.
At the moment, Varane has already won as much as other Chamartin legends like Di Stefano or Hierro and only Benzema and Chendo (18), Casillas and Camacho (19), Sergio Ramos and Marcelo (21), and Gento (23) are ahead of him.
Although Benzema, Ramos and Marcelo could reach the titles of the Cantabrian, by age, Varane has more chances of exceeding that figure. That's if he extend his contract with team.
