Chelsea plan Stamford Bridge expansion

The current capacity is just over 41,000 and Chelsea will present a planning application to increase the capacity of Stamford Bridge by almost 20,000 seats.

Like London rivals Tottenham, Chelsea do not want to build a new stadium on a different site and would prefer to redevelop their current stadium.

With Spurs playing their home games at Wembley next season, Chelsea would probably not share the ground with their London rivals.

It therefore seems that the Blues may play their games at Twickenham, the home of England's rugby team should their application be approved.
