According to 'TuttoNapoli.net', the player has agreed a return to the Stadio San Paoli and the Naples-based side must now negotiate a fee with PSG to complete the deal.
The Uruguayan is thought to have informed the Parisian side of his desire to leave the club this summer and seemingly has his heart set on a return to his former club.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis opened the door to a move recentyl, saying: "Cavani has my number. If he wants, he can call me, reduce his salary and I'll get in touch with PSG."
However, the Napoli chief was keen to underline the financial difficulty of a deal. "I know that everyone would like it, but Edi earns €20m every 10 months..."
Nevertheless, according to the aforementioned source, Cavani has agreed to cut that figure down to €7.5m in order to agree a four-year deal at his former stomping ground.
Despite breaking a whole host of PSG's goalscoring records, Neymar's arrival at the Parc des Princes means there is no longer really space for Cavani, with the pair having already clashed on several occasions in their year as team-mates.
With Neymar having been given untouchable status and Kylian Mbappe not far behind, it looks like Cavani's decision to leave is based on both push and pull factors.
