Sergio Busquets has written another page in the history book of the Spanish national team. In the last 16 of the World Cup against Morocco, he made his 17th World Cup appearance.
This makes him the player with the most World Cup appearances for 'la Roja', although not alone. He joins Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas at the top of the list.
Busquets made his World Cup debut in 2010. In South Africa, he played in all seven of Spain's matches up to the final, where they were crowned world champions for the first time.
In Brazil 2014, the Barca midfielder added two more games, in an edition in which the national team lost in the group stage. He made four more appearances four years later, at Russia 2018, before adding another four at this World Cup in Qatar.
