The rumours about the possible arrival of Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, to the Brazilian National Team continued swirling after the team thrashed Guinea (4-1) in a friendly match on Saturday.
"The CBF takes as given the hiring of coach Carlo Ancelotti", who would take over the reins of the five-time world champions as of "January or June" 2024, as reported by 'Globo'.
According to 'TV Globo' narrator Luis Roberto, CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues intends to announce the alleged agreement with the Italian coach "at the end of this month".
Speculation surrounding the hiring of Ancelotti was sparked shortly after the departure of Tite, who ended his tenure as Brazil coach after losing in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar 2022. In his latest intervention, the CBF president admitted that the Madrid coach is his Plan A. "When everyone says he is the ideal coach, I have to believe he is," he explained.
The future of the Italian at the head of the Spanish titans, with whom he has a contract until June 2024, has apparently not changed the plans of the head of Brazilian football, who, according to information from 'Globo', will wait for him as long as it takes.
Brazil's interim coach Ramon Menezes told a press conference on Saturday that he was unaware of any kind of agreement with Ancelotti after the win over Guinea at the RCDE Stadium in Cornella-El Prat. "I have already said that he is a great coach, what can I say about Ancelotti? His career is wonderful," he said.
Some of Brazil's players, such as Lucas Paqueta and Marquinhos, were also asked about the possible arrival of the former AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich coach, to whom they dedicated praise, albeit in a cautious way.
What does Ancelotti have to say about it? According to 'Marca', he is not even considering leaving Real Madrid. The coach has always made it clear that his home is in the Spanish capital and he has no intention of packing his bags.
Brazil plans to wait, but the Italian has no plans to leave Madrid: the 'Merengues' are his priority. The coach intends to remain at the helm for the 2023-24 season.
