Given the latest events that have ocurred regarding racism in the football world, UEFA, as an institution, have decided to honour those teams that have tried to get rid of it.
Therefore, the entire European commitee announced that it will reward Borussia Dortmund for their commitment in the fight against these types of acts, "the long trajectory in this area and its clear positions of support for human rights."
"Social commitment is very important for Borussia Dortmund. It gives us great satisfaction that we are to be honoured with this award from UEFA," declared the German team's manager, Hans-Joachim Waztke.
It will be the first time that the continental federation awards such a prize. The delivery ceremony will take place this Thursday during the draw gala of the next edition of the Champions League in Monaco.
