The Bavarian club have declined to make further comments on the possible signing of Sane after Karl Heinz Rummenigge rebuked Niko Kovac for publically raising expectations of Bayern signing Sane soon.
Kovac himself then backtracked and apologised to his Man City counterpart, Pep Guardiola, for offensive comments over his optimism at getting Sane.
The matter has been mentioned in various German news outlets for days where they have said that City are preparing to bring in Mikel Oyarzabal of Real Sociedad if Sane departs.
The young German footballer went to Man City in summer 2016 for 50.5 million euros. It is expected that the offer for the 23 year-old attacker is around 70 or 80 million euros.
After a rather average first season, Sane has shone in the last two seasons for the Sky Blues. He scored 14 goals and gave 19 assists in the 2017-18 season and 16 goals and 17 assists in the 2018-19 campaign.
