Shinji Kagawa looked set to join AS Monaco in the January transfer window, but they lost out to Turkish club Besiktas who have signed the Japanese midfielder from Borussia Dortmund. Kagawa will arrive in Istanbul on Thursday in order to complete the loan deal and to negotiate the option of making the transfer permanent this summer.
Kagawa will bring experience and technical skill to the Turkish club, having previously played under Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund, winning the title with them - as well as featuring in Alex Ferguson´s Manchester United side. Such skills will be welcomed as Besiktas look to finish the season well, currently sixth in the Turkish League.
