Benzema's first final goal was ruled out for offside
Three previous finals had brought zero luck for Benzema but the French striker was hoping it would be fourth times the charm in Kiev.
It looked to have been the case after he was in the perfect place to pounce on a loose ball in the area after Loris Karius had denied Ronaldo.
However, the offside flag was promptly raised, adjuding Ronaldo to have been in an offside position during the build-up.
Replays showed it was a tight call but was a right decision as Liverpool were given a lifeline in the Olympic Stadium.
