Benzema at odds with Al Ittihad coach, opens the door to a SHOCK transfer

Not everything is a bed of roses for new signings in the Saudi League. The Arab press has revealed, through the newspaper 'Asharq Al-Awsat', that Karim Benzema is at odds with his coach at Al Ittihad, Nuno Espirito Santo, who did not want him to join the team at first. This is where the bad relationship between the two professionals began and, so far, they have not found a solution.

The reason the former Tottenham Hotspur boss was wary of having the former Real Madrid captain in his ranks is that he feels he does not fit in with his style of play. However, the board managed to sign him, which caused a huge sensation in his country's football anyway. Moreover, the tactician included him in his line-ups as a matter of course, as his quality is undeniable.

This is not to say that the Frenchman is enjoying everything he wants in the squad. There was one request that the Portuguese turned down and that is to wear the team armband. The Portuguese thought Romarinho was a better option and the Frenchman alluded to his huge experience at the top-flight.

Despite Benzema's desire, Nuno Espirito Santo has stuck to his guns, so the striker has contacted club chiefs to ask for a solution. At the moment, it is an unknown what may happen, because, as much as the signing of the Frenchman has been massive for Al Ittihad, the club have been counting on this coach since last season, long before the player's arrival, and it would be a surprise if he were sacked or if some drastic measure was taken.
