Fantasy football aficionados were left upset after Benjamin Mendy sat out Saturday's Premeir League clash with Fulham, which his team won 3-0. The popular defender missed the game with a slight knee injury and was replaced by Fabian Delph, however it is understood the measure was mainly precautionary ahead of a busy schedule of six games in three weeks.
One of the most picked players on the official fantasy football app Mendy was owned by 2,102,786 different players, 37.7 per cent of the total number of users.
Out of the squad, Mendy earned no points this weekend,leaving fans of the game disappointed.
However the World Cup winner took to twitter to apologise saying ''So many broken hearts today. Sorry for letting you guys down,''
