It is understood that Chelsea have sent medical staff over to France in order for Michy Batshuayi to sign for the Blues.
Marseille contacted Belgium manager Marc Wilmots and requested that the 22-year-old could leave training between "10am and noon" today.
It comes as no surprise that Chelsea would like to complete the deal swiftly as Batshuayi is a man in demand, having seen offers from other clubs, including Crystal Palace, accepted by Marseille.
Marseille are also keen for the deal to be completed as they are being threatened by a transfer embargo, should they not raise extra funds.
Marc Wilmots confirmed the news that the striker would undergo a medical with Chelsea and seemed fairly relaxed about the player missing training, despite facing Wales in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 on Friday.
"He did not ask for my advice," he said. "Marseille just asked me to release him for two hours for a medical visit between 10am and noon. That's all.
"I think it's best that the players are busy with transfers.
"This shows that they have worked well," The Belgian boss added.
