It looks like Barcelona will make at least one signing in the January transfer window. The Catalans will get a replacement for Sergio Aguero because they do not know for certain how long the Argentine will be out for.
According to 'AS', there are two options. Either signing a footballer like Dani Olmo or going for Raheem Sterling. Both players have been on Barca's radar for a while now.
With Mateu Alemany, Barcelona will not sign any temporary replacements like Boateng, Braithwaite or Luuk de Jong. The intention is to make a serious signing for a top quality player.
Of the two previously mentioned attackers, Dani Olmo is the priority for Alemany and Planes, although it remains to be seen how buying him will affect Barca's finances as he will not be cheap.
An option could be a loan deal with a compulsory purchase clause, but there are more options, providing Barca do not have to pay for the player immediately. They cannot do that due to a lack of funds.
Sterling, unlike Olmo and Aguero, wants to leave Man City as soon as possible and Pep aslo wants him to move on after his controversial comments. Finally, Luuk de Jong has no chance of staying and he will leave.
