Manchester United have started to plan their squad for 2022/24. With their minds set on finishing as well as possible in the Premier League and the FA Cup final against Manchester City, Erik ten Hag ensured the continuation of one player who was looking ready to walk out the door.
Thanks to his impressive performance this season, Diogo Dalot scored himself a pay rise. The Portuguese right-back, whose contract would finish at the end of next June, had an automatic renewal clause in his contract that the United team agreed unanimously to activate, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Unfortunately for Barcelona, one of the teams that were interested in bagging Dalot, they will have to start looking elsewhere and forget about the Portuguese international.
For his part, Dalot has always been keen on staying in the United jersey after 2023. Looking at this season, the former Oporto player was a starter in 37 of the 41 games he played and managed to score 2 goals and provide several assists.
