As soon as Barcelona saw Pedri's talent, they knew they had to get him. The Catalans agreed his move from Las Palmas in summer 2019 for five million euros.
But Las Palmas then made sure they included some bonuses for objectives which were easy to reach. As Pedri has grown on the field of play, he has easily achieved many of them.
Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez revealed the figures of the signing in a press conference this Friday. "Up to now, we have asked Barca for 12 million euros, but we've only received seven," he said.
Barca, therefore, still owe them five million. Ramirez also revealed that that figure could soon increase if Pedri keeps on playing for the Catalan giants.
"At this rate, we hope to get well over 20 million euros," he added. That said, he understands that that will be in the long term: "Everything takes its time."
Pedri has already made 50 appearances for Barca. That automatically earns Las Palmas another nine million euros and they are thinking of earning even more thanks to Pedri's immense quality.
