Clement Lenglet knows that he will not be getting many minutes next season in a Barca team directed by Xavi Hernandez. However, he is still yet to accept any of the alternatives that have been offered to him by the board of the Catalan club. The most recent proposition they have received is the possibility of sending him out on loan to Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur.
'Sport' reports that the Barcelona big wigs have asked the defender to make a quick decision on whether or not he wants to accept Tottenham's offer. Currently, Spurs are the most likely, and practically the only team after the centreback as Roma have pulled out of negotiations after not wanting to match his high salary.
It has already been reported that the English club have no issue with paying the majority of the defender's economic demands. This is key for 'Los Azulgranas' in accepting the offer as Joan Laporta's main priority is making sure that the club accounts are dealt with intelligently.
Lenglet's trajectory since joining the Catalan club from Sevilla has been downward. He came into the club as one of the best in his position but now, he is not even guaranteed a camio role in Xavi's 2022/23 plans. Added to this, his market value has plummetted.
