Ahead of Real's decisive Bayern Munich tie, the Real Madrid boss will have to get by without another on of his regulars. With Pepe and Varane sidelined through injury, now it is Gareth Bale who seems to have fitness trouble.
The Welshman's calf injury has been a long-standing problem for the 'BBC' component and a real headache for Zidane. After the game in Munich, Bale limped off with some discomfort in such a troubled area for him, and the French manager is not about to take any risks with the 'fragile' winger.
Zidane rested many key players in the victory at Sporting, with the less-regulars proving they can be relied upon if necessary, but Bayern is a much trickier opponent than the Spanish relegation-bound side.
Now, 'Zizou' will have to decide who fits better to replace Bale, with Asensio, Isco, Lucas or James all possible choices. We will have to wait to see Zidane's starting lineup, but one thing is certain: Gareth Bale will not play against Bayern Munich.
