Arsenal v Watford - Preview and possible lineups

Arsenal: Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could return to the side after missing the Europa League win over AC Milan due to ineligibility. Full-backs Sead Kolasinac and Calum Chambers were both withdrawn in that game due to knocks but are both expected to be fit to feature in the squad for this one.

Watford: Midfielder Tom Cleverley is back in training following a thigh injury but he won't be considered for selection for this one. Defensive quintet Craig Cathcart, Tommie Hoban (both knee), Jose Holebas (ankle), Molla Wague (hamstring) and Younes Kaboul (foot) and midfielders Nathaniel Chalobah (knee) and Gerard Deulofeu (foot) remain sidelined.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:

"I want to do well for the fans and want them to go home happy and when I can't give them that satisfaction I'm unhappy of course. First of all, I dedicated my whole life to winning football matches so when I lose I'm in disastrous shape.

"When you don't get the results, the first thing affected is the mood and the lack of sleep and the desire to find solutions. Overall it’s part of the job. When you’re a young manager, you dream of taking a job and winning every game but it’s not that.

"It is about surviving through disappointments, finding solutions and that’s interesting as well because it can make you a better manager to face a crisis."

Watford boss Javi Gracia:

“For me Wenger deserves all my respect, he has done an excellent job at Arsenal during 22 years – nowadays that is something impossible. I think he is a great manager.

“After winning the last games, to be able to win another game and reach 39 points, this is in this moment what we want to achieve.”
