Arsenal's Xhaka switches to number 34

The 25-year-old posted on social media platform Instagram to announce the change. He wrote: ''The number 34 has a big significance for me. It was my first number as a professional and it's always brought me luck.''
After having joined the Gunners from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach, Xhaka sported the number 29 shirt for two seasons, but will now make the switch to his former Basel number.
Francis Coquelin, the previous 34 shirt owner, left Arsenal in January for Valencia and left the jersey vacant. Yet the midfielder is not the only player to be shaking it up next season.
Petr Cech will be claiming the number one shirt, whilst defender Hector Bellerin will adopt number two and Mohamed Elneny is trading in his 35 for a number four, after Per Mertesacker retired from his professional playing career.
