Arsenal gain unexpected edge in title race as Premier League denies Liverpool's request

Liverpool and Everton had both sought to move the highly anticipated derby, set for April 2, to an earlier date. The request was made to give both teams more time to recover before their subsequent fixtures. Everton are due to play at Anfield on April 2, followed by a home clash with Arsenal just three days later.
Both clubs reportedly saw the potential benefit of bringing the derby forward to April 1, but the Premier League ultimately rejected the proposal. The decision means that Liverpool will have less time to prepare for their next fixture, potentially adding pressure as they look to maintain their 12-point lead at the top of the table.
The Premier League had already announced its TV selections for April on February 28, confirming that the Merseyside derby will be broadcast by Sky Sports.
With just nine matches remaining in the season, Liverpool's lead could begin to narrow as they face a challenging run of fixtures, while Arsenal will be looking to capitalise on any slip-ups.
