Ansu Fati set to join Monaco on loan as deal nears completion

After struggling with injuries and losing his place to rising star Lamine Yamal, Fati is not part of Hansi Flick's plans at Barcelona. The Catalan side have been seeking a solution for weeks, and a move to Ligue 1 now appears imminent.
Rumours linking the 22-year-old to Monaco have been circulating since last month, but talks have only accelerated in recent days. The agreement, per Romano, is now at the final stages, with only minor details left to be settled.
The deal would send Fati to the Stade Louis II on a season-long loan, while Monaco would retain a purchase option – the price of which is still under discussion.
Negotiations are reportedly so advanced that Fati is set to complete his medical in the coming days and then join Monaco's pre-season.
The move would ease Barcelona's wage bill, as Fati is on a significant contract. It would also offer the academy graduate a fresh start after a season in which he played just 298 minutes for the first team.
