Tato Martino was the person who gave him his Barcelona debut before he went to Aston Villa. He had a spell at Middlesbrough after that before joining Wolves where he is now.
"I remember finding a clever boy who was good enough to make the big step up. He was good physically and as a footballer and he was very bold. He was very capable and very aware of his potential," he told 'De Taco'.
The Argentine coach does not find his progress impressive because he already knew what the Spanish attacker was capable of.
"His progress is due to something which is very normal when you get experience and regular playing time. He has become a footballer capable of achieving everything he aims for," he concluded.
