A new era begins at Newcastle: a party, a welcome and a goal in 2'

Newcastle have just started a new era. The fans know it, the staff know it and the Arabian ownership knows it and has ignited excitement among the supporters. With unparalleled monetary power in today's footballing landscape, they unleashed a welcoming party at St James' Park for the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The atmosphere was palpable long before kick-off. Supporters thronged the gates of the stadium to chant encouragement and support for the newly-arrived managers. Once the match was about to start, the new bosses thanked the fans from the stands for their applause.

In the 'DAZN' video above, the fans' banner reads: "Because this is a mighty city, built upon a solid ground, and everything they've tried so hard to kill, we will rebuild."

And to cap it all, it took just two minutes for the team to give the fans even more reason to celebrate. Callum Wilson, in one of the first dangerous moves of the contest, opened the scoring for the Magpies. With a full house announced days before, the Blue and Whites' stadium thundered like never before to show that this project supports its aim for historic success.

A misjudgement by Reguilon allowed the striker to break the deadlock, although Ndombele equalised shortly afterwards. It is vital that every player in Newcastle's squad is vindicated because the new management could make changes to raise the level of the squad and anyone who does not perform to a high standard could be left out.
