While they are both fully focused on Croatia's upcoming European Cup classification games against Bulgaria and Malta, the pair have still spoken out about their desires to achieve great things with Real Madrid.
In less than a week, if results go their way, they will be looking at a place in next year's European Cup held in France. It seemed that manager Davor Suker has everything under control, however an unlikely draw against Azerbaijan alongside the loss in Norway has meant the Croatians' will have to concentrate fully on the next two games ahead
Both seemed confident however that they will get the right results over the next week, "We are convinced that we can quality for the European Cup. We had everything going for us, but in football you can rely on anything," the ex-Spurs midfielder said.
Kovacic also spoke out about his recent move to Madrid and how he has been impressed with how welcoming everyone at the club has been: "Now I've realized what it's like to be at Real Madrid. When I saw them play, and speaking to Luka he would tell me things about the club, it make me realize how they are big in every sense of the word.
"But when you're actually inside, and form part of the 'Real Madrid' family, you realize what it means to put on that white shirt.
"Everything they say about Real Madrid is true. When you're outside the club you might feel that everything is a little bit exaggerated, but its not like that at all. It's the biggest club and team there is."
