Manchester City vs Liverpool. As it happened
What a game. What an exhibition. The hug between two attack-minded managers who have gifted us with a thrilling match, which surprisingly ends 1-1. Both teams had an endless amount of chances to go up, but in the end it will be a point apiece.
City piling on the pressure
Liverpool just sitting back now.
What a miss!
Aguero is unmarked at the back post and De Bryune's cross finds him. His volley is way over the bar.

Yellow card for Mane
A dangerous sliding tackle from behind on Silva gets him booked. Lucas comes on for Firmino.
Down the right again, Silva finds Aguero whose first-touch shot goes right of the goal.

Non-stop action now. From one side to the other. Fernando comes on for Sane.
City close now!
Silva with a lovely lobbed pass for Sterling but Caballero races quickly off his line.
Liverpool terrible miss!
Just when City seemed best in this game Liverpool waste their best chance. Firmino is released behind the defence and he pulls the ball back for Lallana, who had an open tap-in which he completely missed.

After Aguero abd Sane's great play, the striker trips inside the box, the ball finally falls to De Bruyne who shoots with his left and hits the woodwork. Anything could happen in this game!

Stones header just wide!
Silva was booked for protesting Michael Oliver's decision. Remember United were fined for their players' protests at Oliver.
A well-taken penalty to Caballero's right, who went left. Klopp could not bear to watch and was facing the stands.
Milner to take the spot kick...
Liverpool are awarded the spot-kick after Clichy's challenge on Firmino. The defender is booked.
Firs chance in the 2nd half!
Lallana pulled the ball back for Mane whose shot is deflected to a corner kick.
Aguero gets the ball rolling!
No changes at the break. We will hope for goals after an action-packed first half.
The first half comes to an end with the scoreline reading a surprising 0-0. There has been rhythm to the play and the sun has even come out. A well-fought first half. More to come in the second!

A late tackle on Aguero earns the centre-back a booking.
Caballero saves well from Lallana's effort from the edge of the box.
Manchester City so close!
De Bruyne with the ball into the box for Silva, who crosses down low. Sterling is there with an open goal, but Milner's challenge puts him off, and Fernandinho hits the side netting at the back post. It could have been a penalty on Aguero...
Milner took the free kick, and Matip at the back post heads the ball wide.
Liverpool begin to claim more possession, coming closer to City's box. The ball falls to Coutinho at the corner of the box, he cuts on to his right foot and shoots high over the bar.
Matip is down
Liverpool with another claim for penalty as Wijnaldum dances inside the box and is caught by a sliding Toure. Very tight decision.
Chance for Liverpool!

Yellow for Yaya Toure
The midfielder with a dangerous challenge showing his studs at Can.
Manchester City close!
The clearest chance yet. Aguero fed a through ball into Sane's path who, at a tight angle, shot at goal. Mignolet stretched his leg to save and the ball falls to Silva who shoots over the bar.
Yellow card Firmino
The Brazilian slid in to a challenge on Silva, but caught his ankle, and sees yellow.
Fernandinho drilled in a low cross which could have been met by Aguero, who went down after a light challenge from Matip.
Good attacking move from City which ended with De Bruyne's cross, which was creeping in the near post, parried away to corner by Mignolet. Still no shots but plenty of danger.
