Gianluigi Buffon says Sergio Aguero is Manchester City's equivalent of Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
The striker has already scored nine goals in 13 appearances in all competitions this season, despite being hampered by a recurring hamstring problem.
Buffon will attempt to thwart Aguero when Juventus host City in Turin in their Champions League group stage encounter on Wednesday, but revealed his admiration for the Argentina star.
He said : "When you get to the knockout stages, the best teams look to their stand-out player for a moment of brilliance.
"So many times we have seen Messi do it for Barcelona or Ronaldo do it for Real Madrid. Aguero can be that player for Manchester City.
"One player cannot win you the Champions League, but special players win you games, and winning games wins you competitions. Sergio Aguero is that special player for them."
City have already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition and sit top of Group D, while Juventus will qualify if they draw or win.
They will also reach the last-16 if Sevilla fail to beat Borussia Monchengladbach, regardless of their result on Wednesday.
