The Belgian is only under contract with Mauricio Pochettino's side until the summer of 2019 with talks over an extension yet to reach an agreement.
Alderweireld has established himself as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League in recent years and is one part of Tottenham's former Ajax back three, made up of him, fellow countryman Jan Vertonghen and new recruit Davinson Sanchez.
Nevertheless, the 28-year-old, who is currently away on international duty, insists that he is happy at the club and says that he told Pochettino just that during a recent meeting between the pair.
Alderweireld told 'Sky Sports News': "I had a good conversation with the manager. I told him I'm focused on football, to keep my game up and help the team.
"That's all I can do. You can see I'm happy there, and I try to help the team, and that's the way I always play football."
When asked if he had been offered a new deal the player replied: "No, like I said, I am focused on football. The rest, I don't know, we will see about that."
Whilst Spurs fans would rather see their star grinning, pen in hand, the news that Alderweireld is still happy at the club will tide them over for now.
