As the old adage goes, the 25-year-old is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay and with his release clause set at €222m that is his price.

But what is his real market value? What should he cost? If 'Transfermarkt' is anything to go by the the former Santos man's price should be just €100m, €20m less than 32-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, if we opt for the figures generated by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), those valuations change significantly. The CIES' most recent study valued Neymar at €211.2, just €8.9m short of the player's release clause.

Whatever the valuation, it is clear that moeny is no object for PSG. The Parisian side want to make Neymar a part of their team and are prepared to do whatever it takes to do so.
