Erik ten Hag has confirmed what was a badly kept secret. Manchester United are not planning a future without Marcus Rashford, and are already drawing up a deal to keep the striker at Old Trafford.
That's what the Red Devils manager spoke about in his side's pre-match press conference ahead of the Fulham game: "We're working on a new deal for Rashford. I have a good feeling. Marcus wants to stay and we want him to stay".
It was a short and sweet answer from Ten Hag. The Dutch manager is aware that the number 10 will be in high demand with his 30 goales and 9 assists this season. In fact, the England national received praise from prolific goalscorer Robin van Persie, who got the same amount of goals in 2012-13.
The coach's words were very different from those he said a few weeks ago: "It's an internal process and we're focused on winning games. We're also planning for the future, which is why we're working on that too, but that is down to agents and the director of football. We're focused on performing".
