'We only found out Cristiano wanted to leave when everyone else did'

Cristiano Ronaldo had nine years playing alongside Sergio Ramos, in which time the two players became legendary in the famous white shirt.
The Portuguese forward was famous for his individualism in the Real Madrid team, but even so he and Ramos built a close relationship over the years that they spent at the Bernabeu.
Football was shocked when 'CR7' hinted that he might leave Real Madrid after he won his fifth Champions League title against Liverpool in May, which he of course did when he moved to Juventus for €100 million.
Sergio Ramos revealed on Thursday when he picked up the UEFA best defender of the year award that the Real Madrid players were as surprised as anyone at the comments.
"We found out practically when the microphones were being set up and we were surprised," Ramos said.
"He [Ronaldo] does what he wants."
