Club America defeated Portland Timbers in the Concacaf Champions League quarter-finals on Thursday - check out Leo Suarez's fantastic goal here!
It was Uruguayan striker Viñas who opened the scoring after 21 minutes, before he completed his brace via the penalty spot just before the hour mark. Portland Timbers did pull one back through a penalty of their own scored by Valeri just four minutes later, but America killed the game off after Suarez's fine strike in the 70th minute. This secured the Mexican side a 3-1 victory, completing a 4-2 aggregate result.
After this win, America go on to play Philadelphia Union in the semi-finals of the competition. Before this point, however, attention turns domestic duties and the Liga MX, where they currently sit second and just three points off Cruz Azul.
