Vardy's secret to being switched on: sofa, beer and family

Vardy still has time left on his contract and he wants to see it out to its completion. The 34-year-old finds himself faced with the challenge of not hanging up his boots just yet, as he faces stiff competition in the current Leicester side.
The club boasts the likes of Iheanacho and new signing Patson Daka, although they are yet to truly match up to one of the Foxes' living legends. In fact, Vardy started this current Premier League season doing what he does best - scoring.
It was his goal that saw Leicester beat Wolves 1-0 on the opening day, and he was lucky not to get on the scoresheet in the Community Shield against Man City after his strike hit the woodwork. Either way, he's made it clear that he doesn't plan to go anywhere.
'The Athletic' revealed what has been and continues to be Vardy's formula to maintaining such a high level. Everything has to do with his holidays, given that the Englishman doesn't need to go a far-away paradise. In fact, he prefers to do just the opposite.
All Vardy needs is his sofa, a few beers and quality time spent with his wife and kids. In other words, enjoying some down time, resting up and doing so alongside his family. And that's exactly how he spent this summer.
That's what has given Vardy the necessary energy which saw him pressing from minute one to 90 in the match against Wolves. He has left Brendan Rodgers with the welcome problem of how to fit in all of his quality strikers in one system, as Leicester look to challenge the so-called 'big teams' for a top-four finish once again this season.
