The Dutch champions were on the receiving end of a 4-0 thrashing from Pep Guardiola's side back in September's Champions League opener and face the daunting trip to the Etihad on Tuesday.
Feyenoord have no chance of qualifying for the knockout stages having failed to claim a single point from their four fixtures to date and the former Dutch international admitted pre-match that his side face a huge challenge against the Premier League's runaway leaders.
'The first game we played against them at home, it was an outstanding performance from City,' he admitted.
'They have only drawn once, against Everton at home. All the other teams couldn't cope with the level they have and the football they are showing.
'I don't think you will find a person in this room, or Europe or the world even, to say that City are not one of the best teams at the moment.'
Feyenoord's season all but ended in the wake of that defeat to City, with the club having only managed three wins in 13 games, leaving them 14 points adrift of Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven.
'We didn't win any game in the group but we were in one of the toughest groups in the tournament with three fantastic sides,' added Van Bronckhorst.
'Our form in the league in the last months is not good. We find it difficult to win games, but we create a lot of chances, every game, and hopefully we can turn the chances into goals.'
With even their hopes of finishing third and clinching a Europa League place looking slim, they are largely playing only for pride, but with that in mind, could the Dutch side spring a huge shock on Tuesday?
