After making his debut in the 20-21 season under Ronald Koeman and earning a regular place in the starting eleven, Oscar Mingueza has been far from the level required at Barcelona in the 21-22 season. Xavi Hernandez is not counting on him for a defence in which Eric Garcia, Araujo and company will play a leading role.
The idea is to find a place for the centre-back this summer as he has a contract until 2023. If a move does not happen, the player could leave for free at the end of next season, and that is something that the 'Cules' coffers, which are in constant check, cannot allow.
The option of Getafe and even Wolves - with the aim of making the possible arrival of Ruben Neves cheaper - appeared, but 'Mundo Deportivo' assured that both Valencia and Hoffenheim are also interested in Mingueza, who can play as a centre-back and right-back.
With his entire career still ahead of him - he is 23 years old - the defender could end his time at 'Can Barça' after 66 first-team appearances, in which he has scored two goals and provided five assists.
