Upamecano appears on the Real Madrid scene

Dayot Upamecano could be the player with the biggest amount of teams after him in Europe. The French CB, at 21, is at the same time a great reality of football and the future. That's why it was strange that Real Madrid weren't after him. But that reality has now changed.
According to the newspaper 'AS', Zinedine Zidane has told the board of his interest in signing him.
The protocol is reminiscent of the one he once carried out with Raphaël Varane, whom he recommended when he was still very young, seeing in him a great focus for the future, as it turned out.
The Real Madrid manager sees Upamecano as a player capable of giving Ramos and Varane a rest in the usual minute-loaded seasons. With Éder Militao and the Frenchman, Zizou would now have 4 guaranteed CBs to face all competitions.
His signing, however, wouldn't be easy. The current pandemic will devalue the market, although there are quite a few large teams capable of bidding for Upamecano, so there is a risk of an auction that will make him leave Germany for a high price. Barça is another one of them.
What does seem clear by all accounts is that the French international will leave RB Leipzig and his contract ends in 2021, but he hasn't renewed and could leave for free next season if the German club don't strike a deal with a team.
