In the summer, Jose Mourinho was determined to sign the Croatia international, who finally remained at San Siro. In his side's 2-0 win over SPAL, he connected a sweet volley which flew into the net.

Inter Milan had to work hard to earn a 2-0 win over SPAL in the Serie A's early kick-off on Sunday. Spalletti's side took the lead thanks to a penalty converted by Mauro Icardi, but they were still unable to put the game out of reach.

Ivan Perisic doubled his side's lead with a sensational volley. D'Ambrosio's cross was met by the Croatian who smashed the ball in off the crossbar.
