Although people denied it, there was interest in Caglar Soyuncu from Barcelona back in May. Then, it was know that Barcelona had been following the Turkish central defender since 2016, but the reported interest was quickly rejected by all parties.
Now, 'NTV Spor' have once again said Barca want the Leicester central defender. According to the Turkish media outlet, the Catalans would pay around 40 million euros for the footballer, who would sign for five seasons.
The defender joined the Premier League for slightly more than 20 million euros and in his two campaigns at Leicester, he has put in solid performances. This was especially the case last season when he got into the eleven.
Despite the fact Leicester worsened after the coronavirus stoppage and had to settle for a Europa League spot, Soyuncu's performances were good.
The Turkish international played 42 games for Brendan Rodgers' men this season and he scored a goal and gave an assist. He is a central defender who can play on the left side despite being right footed.
