"There are few things to think about when Madrid call you" - Kepa

Kepa Arrizabalaga has taken the great opportunity that has come to him. The Spanish goalkeeper received the call from Real Madrid who needed a replacement for Thibaut Courtois this summer.
The former Athletic man spoke about his signing for Real Madrid at the 'La Roja' training camp. "When they call you, there are few things to think about," the goalkeeper told to the Spanish media.
"Pochettino wanted me to stay at Chelsea and told me that I was going to play, that he trusted me, but I thought a change would be good for me. I fancied a change."
Kepa was already on the edge of joining Real Madrid in 2018, but finally went to Chelsea: "I didn't put myself in that situation. I analysed the moment because it was quick, I had to make quick decisions and I had to decide quickly."
The former Chelsea goalkeeper also had the chance to go to Bayern Munich. Tuchel approached the Basque player and he was close to landing in Germany, but the injury to Thibaut Courtois led to the opportunity to play for Real Madrid in La Liga.
"The goalkeeping position is a bit special. Normally one of us plays and we spend a lot of time together, we work together with the goalkeeping coach. I've always had a good relationship with them, when I've played and when I have not played."
"Healthy competition is good for the team, giving the best version of each other is good", added the 28-year-old keeper analysing his relationship with his teammate Andriy Lunin.
"I've faced Real 3 times with Chelsea. When I arrived at the Bernabeu I always turned left, to the visiting dressing room, but I wanted to turn right, to local dressing room!", told the young star goalkeeper of the "Merengues".
