Until a few months ago, it was known that Barcelona were monitoring the Italian central defender Alessandro Bastoni. At the age of 20, Antonio Conte has given him opportunities and although he was not a nailed on starter, he was in the Italian coach's plans.
Time has passed and competitions have been suspended, so Barca have not been able to deepen their analysis of the player. Barca have observed Lautaro closely several times and they have also seen the performances of Bastoni.
Although 'Tuttosport' assures that Inter are accelerating to renew their promising defender, 'Mundo Deportivo' confirms that he is a player who is very highly rated by Barca.
The player, who came through the Atalanta academy, has a market value of around 22 million euros, but a bit more than that will be needed to prise him away from the Giuseppe Meazza.
So far this season, Bastoni has played 17 matches for Inter, in which he even scored a goal despite being a central defender. Another plus which could help him move to Barca is his ability to act as a left back if needed, so Barca could use him in two separate positions. But Liverpool and Manchester City also want the player.
