When Ronald Koeman left the Camp Nou after being beaten in 'El Clasico' by Real Madrid, a large group of Barca fans intercepted him. He was insulted, shouted at and they hit his car. His wife was also in the car. Club president Joan Laporta condemned these acts ahead of the game with Rayo Vallecano.
"The incidents involving Koeman cannot happen again," he said in brief comments to 'Cuatro', 'GOL' and 'El Chiringuito'. These comments were made in Madrid where Laporta is to watch the match on Wednesday evening.
The aforementioned TV channels also asked if the coach will remain in charge regardless of what happens against Andoni Iraola's men. This leaves the door open to a possible dismissal if things go badly.
We will have to wait until the next home game against Alaves to see whether fans listen to their president. Not many Barca supporters are expected in Vallecas.
