The Griezmann-Saul swap is closer than ever

Seeing Antoine Griezmann back in the Atletico Madrid shirt is a dream for some people that is close to happening. Paco Gonzalez of 'Cadena COPE' explained that a player swap with Saul is close. It seemed improbable a new change of players in Barcelona, as it was done with Pjanic and Arthur Melo. But the one between Griezmann and Saul is close.

Paco Gonzalez said that only "a swerve by Joan Laporta" would reverse the operation between the two clubs. And the fact is that the Barcelona president has shown in just a few months of his second term in office that he is not afraid of anything or anyone.

'Sport' indicated that Barcelona want Atletico Madrid to pay around 15 million euros as compensation for the difference in value between the two players. In this way, if such a deal were to happen, Antoine Griezmann would end up back at the Wanda Metropolitano, while Barcelona would have one of their long-standing ambitions, Saul.

The Atletico Madrid player has lost his place in recent seasons. He has gone from being irreplaceable to watching matches from the Atletico bench. As for Griezmann, the Frenchman would arrive at the team where he has given the best performance and would secure his place as a starter, something difficult to assume at Camp Nou stadium with the arrivals of Agüero and Depay.

It is precisely the departure of the world champion that could help Messi's renewal.  His departure would relieve the finances, in relation to his salary, and the Argentinian could sign for five years.
