Another cut has been made to the list of Golden Boy nominees, the award granted by 'Tuttosport'. 20 players are discarded each money and now there are only 40 left.
Of the previous list of 60 players there are two that have been added despite not appearing before among the candidates. These are Joao Felix, Benfica's Portuguese midfielder, and Nico Zaniolo of Roma.
From the aforementioned list of players, three LaLiga players have been cut: Carles Aleñá (Barcelona), Toni Moya (Atlético) and Luca Zidane (Real Madrid).
Representatives of LaLiga clubs that stay in the race for the Golden Boy are Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid) and Moussa Wagué (Barcelona), whilst Dani Olmo (Dinamo Zagreb) and Manu García (Toulouse) are the only Spanish players left in the list.
It should be taken into account that the Senegalese has not yet made his debut with the first team or for Barcelona B, despite having had an impressive World Cup, so he may not be eligible for the award. The rules specify that only players born from 1st January 1998 onwards and that play in the first team of a European side can participate.
The favourite to take home the prize continues to be Mbappé, who also won the award last season.
