A humble goalkeeper from the Spanish Second Division, Amir Abedzadeh, has been nominated for one of the most ambitious awards there is for any goalkeeper. The 2021 IFFHS (International Federation of Football History & Statistics) awards.
The Iranian is a regular with his national team and is an undisputed starter under Bolo at Ponferradina, although he has been selected for his great performance at Portuguese side Maritimo, where he played last season.
The candidates that make up this list are: Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan, PSG), Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City), Jordan Pickford (Everton FC), Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern Munich), Ederson (Manchester City FC).
