Dani Carvajal and Aurelien Tchouameni are back in Ancelotti's squad for Real Madrid's meeting against Valencia. However, David Alaba is still out of action and Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vazquez are injured.
The Italian coach said he will be able to count on them in February after a long recovery period. Carvajal has picked up a number of minor injuries since the World Cup in Qatar and has played just three games for Madrid since then.
The defender started against Real Valladolid but only played 59 minutes and had to be substituted for niggles. He returned eleven days later when Lucas Vazquez was injured in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals and his last game played was in the final against Barcelona
Tchouameni played just three minutes in the last game of 2022, the first half of the match against Cacereno in the Spanish Super Cup and 64 minutes in the clash against Villarreal. The midfielder has overcome the soleus discomfort he has been carrying since the beginning of the month.
However, Ancelotti is still without David Alaba, who is unable to train with his teammates. The manager expects the defender to be in good form for the Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Lucas Vazquez is still recovering from his left leg injury and Mendy will be out of action for two months due to an injury to the semimembranosus muscle in his left leg.
