Swansea sign Ajax defender Mike van der Hoorn

Swansea have completed the signing of Dutch defender Mike van der Hoorn from Ajax.

The centre-back, who has represented Holland at under-21 level, made 43 first team appearances for Ajax after joining from Utrecht three years ago.

Swansea were looking to bring in a defender after Kyle Bartley went out on loan to Leeds United, and manager Francesco Guidolin was desperate to snap up the 23-year-old from the Eredivisie.

On Tuesday Swansea also completed a move for the defenders compatriot Leroy Fer, who joined from Queens Park Rangers.
