Swansea cool Chadli interest after West Brom demand £25m

The Swans had hoped to bring Nacer Chadli to the Liberty Stadium following the departure of Gylfi Sigurdsson but West Brom's valuation of at least £25m has put the South Wales side off.

Swansea boss Paul Clement had hoped to bring in the 28-year-old winger but has since signed Sam Clucas from Hull, who plays in a similar position to the Belgian international.

Chadli's wages and transfer fees are proving to be an obstacle for Swansea and West Brom are reluctant to let the forward go without finding a replacement first.

Swansea have tried to sign Chadli before, ahead of his move to Tottenham in 2013 then once again last summer after the winger had a row with Tony Pulis over pre-season training.

However, relations have since thawed and although Chadli is yet to feature in the Premier League this season he played the full 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup win at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.
